Senates of IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai and IIT Kharagpur say no to ISEET,IIT JEE will stay

Earlier all the old IIT’s have rejected MHRD’s proposal to replace IIT JEE with ISEET and MHRD has made another proposal to have lesser weightage for 12th board marks for admission into IIT’s, but IIT senates have rejected that proposal too, then as there was a large support to do some reforms to the IIT entrance test II JEE,  IIT senates have decided to brainstorm better reforms to IIT JEE, but reportedly now Senates of IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai and IIT Kharagpur have decided that there will be no ISEET and there will be no changes to IIT JEE for now.

There is also a proposal from IIT Delhi to have a combined national entrance test which will be objective test and then this test will be followed subjective IIT JEE test, though other IIT’s have agreed to have this two tier test to be implemented from 2014,IIT Kharagpur wants the two tier exam to be implemented few years later.

A faculty member from IIT Kharagpur said “Our faculty association is not in favor of newly proposed two tier exam to be implemented for few years, though IIT senates can have a thorough discussion and examination on the effectiveness of the two tier exam and decide later and till then IIT JEE should continue”

Though all old IIT senates have decided that IIT JEE will stay, the final decision will be taken by Central Advisory Board of Education, after a meeting organised by MHRD with IIT Council next month.
