West Bengal will participate in NEET-UG 2013 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses
Reportedly west Bengal state has accepted NEET-UG for admission to MBBS and BDS courses and will participate in NEET-UG 2013 entrance exam. According to Satish Tiwary, the principal secretary of the state health department, the students will have to appear for NEET as proposed by the MHRD. However, the counselling process will be undertaken by the state government. Health department sources said that a notification in this regard will soon be sent to the higher education department.
CBSE has laso agreed to set all instruction and questions in Bengali language also. Students through NEET will have access to 15% medical seats at all India level and 85% seats in their respective states.
CBSE will conduct NEET-UG on 5th May 2013. Medical Council of India opinions that the medical CET reduces burden on students as they need to appear for 3 or less medical entrance exams. NEET-UG, JIPMER Medical entrance exams and AIIMS Medical Entrance exam are the prominent test an aspiring medical student will need to appear.
