    JEE MAINS overall marking scheme.

For getting admission into NIT's and IIST(Now included in JEE MAINS), do I have to score 60% in JEE MAINS exam, or 60% in overall marks,i.e, 40% of the Boards and 60% of JEE MAINS score.

Yasir, for admission into NIT's and other centrally funded technical institutes, the marking scheme is

    0.4 x (your normalised 12th board performance) + 0.6 x (jee main performance)

this formula will be used to calculate a merit ranking which will be used for admission into these institutes.

For calculation of total score with 40 percent weightage of Board and 60 percent weightage of JEE(MAIN) , base of Board's and JEE(MAIN) has to be same. So correct formula would be: 0.4 x (your normalised 12th board performance as percentile score out of 100) + 0.6 x (jee main performance as percentage i.e. marks out of 100)
